Study environment

The students will spend most of their time in the studio with their classmates and teacher ...

... But they will also be part of the creative and international environment at The Animation Workshop, generated by all the people, students, artists, teachers, and professionals within the animation industry who study or work here.

During the semester, The Animation Workshop arranges different events where everybody across departments is encouraged to participate. As a student at the semester course you have the possibility of meeting exciting people from all over the world, who work within many different areas of the visual and creative world.

Some of these events and activities are part of the ‘Soft Value’ program, which is the school’s after-hours activity calendar. The Soft Value program is adjusted every semester, but usually offers a variety of physical activities, such as Morning Dance, yoga, tai-chi, football, basketball, and badminton. In addition, croquis-drawing, film nights, presentations, “Friday bar”, and parties are regularly part of the program. Participation in these activities is free and completely voluntary. You can find out more about it here.

The program is based on ideas and requests from the students, and most activities are run by the students themselves.

Høgni pub
Høgni pub is the Animation Workshop’s location for parties, relaxation, expositions, informal meetings or just chilling. Regular parties are being held at Høgni’s every second Friday, usually with some sort of theme. The students are in charge of organizing and the classes take turns. There is also a party committee where students can join if they want to be more involved in the events going on at Høgni’s. Some of the parties are special, as they celebrate spring, Halloween, Christmas or other events.
