‘Either-Or’ – an animated feature on Søren Kierkegaard
By Rikke May Kristthorsson
Producer at Norna Film
A co-production between The Open Workshop, Dollerup Hills Aps, Mark Film and Norna Film with support from the Vestdanske Filmpulje
Søren Kierkegaard. The very name creates images on almost everybody’s mind. Some may just have heard about him, others have read some or even a lot of his works. But in 2013, on the 5th of May, with an adult audience in mind. it’s 200 years since the famous Danish philosopher was born. It will be celebrated in Denmark as well as many other places in the world.
We’re working on a feature on the man and his works which will be ready as a part of the celebration programme in 2013.
The highly awarded script writer Mogens Rukov is in full swing
developing the story. His work on the project so far and the development overall has been granted support from The Danish Filminstitute (DFI), Den Vestdanske Filmpulje, ANIS and Open Workshop/The Animation Workshop.
The awarded Kierkegaard expert, cand.phil. and author Peter Tudvad is our consultant.
Kasper Kruse (animation director, DDF) is the director, and Rikke May Kristthorsson is the producer.
In this preproduction phase we’re also taking further steps on the
development of characters and design.
A cooperation with The Søren Kierkegaard Research Centre of the
University of Copenhagen has been established since they are the anchor of all events regarding the anniversary.
A lot of work is right now put into the fundraising part of the project.
We’re aiming at at 100% Danish production that will take place here in Viborg.
