Either - Or
A animated feature – in development
By Rikke May Kristthorsson
Producer at Norna Film
A co-production between The Open Workshop, Dollerup Hills Aps, Mark Film and Norna Film with support from the Vestdanske Filmpulje.
A feature film about the famous Danish philosopher Søren Kierkegaard has never been made, neither a live action nor an animation. But this is exactly what Kasper Kruse and Anders Nejsum, Dollerup Hills Aps/Mark Film and Rikke May Kristthorsson, Norna Film are working on presently, and with an adult audience in mind.
The ongoing development phase of the feature film has been supported by both The Open Workshop and the Vestdanske Filmpulje. The professional scriptwriter, Maj Bovin, has been hired for the project. Maj Bovin was most recently the script consultant on Rumle Hammerich’s latest feature Headhunter (2009), and the very same Rumle Hammerich is the overall consultant on the project. The philosopher, speaker and writer, Peter Tudvad is a Søren Kierkegaard expert, and he was employed in the Søren Kierkegaard Research Center at the University of Copenhagen from 1999-2005. Peter Tudvad is developing the synopsis with Maj Bovin and has previously acted as a consultant on the project. The next step is the further development of the story as well as the development of the visual side of the feature film. This is where the great pool of talent in Viborg regarding concept development and design comes into play, and a visual workshop has just been held. The produced material will be used to apply for further funding.
Rikke May Kristthorsson is the producer on the project. She is a journalist by education, and most recently she was the coordinator of the Midtjysk Animationsvæksthus (MiJAV) located in connection to The Animation Workshop. She is now working as a producer at Norna Film.
The final deadline for the film is immovable: 5th of May 2013 which is Søren Kierkegaard’s 200 year anniversary!
