Jerrica (Rikki) Cleland-Hura

Jerrica Cleland
Jericca Cleland developed as a filmmaker in the story-centric environment of Pixar Animation Studios. An experienced CG Cinematographer, Jericca designed the filming and staging of the popular and critically acclaimed films Toy Story 2 and Finding Nemo. She has also worked as Cinematographer for Director-Producer Barry Sonnenfeld and designed the cinematography for the in-progress Weinstein animated feature, Escape from Planet Earth.

Jericca has collaborated closely with and been mentored by industry storytelling greats such as Joe Ranft, John Lasseter, Andrew Stanton, and Lee Unkrich. The environment she fosters as Executive Creative Director at her preproduction studio Twenty One Inc is one of collaboration, high-caliber aesthetics, commitment to strong storytelling, and an in-depth practical understanding of filmmaking and the flow-through of previsualization into production.
Jericca is also an avid teacher and curriculum designer. She has taught and mentored students at Pixar, the San Francisco Art Institute, Texas A&M, Vancouver Film School, Van Arts, and The Animation Workshop and has guest lectured at various studios and industry events around the world. Her areas of instruction include story, visual storytelling, improvisation, cinematography, composition, making the short film, staging, and previsualization. Jericca is very happy to contribute to the development and quality of student work and professional education.
