Siggraph it is!
We are delighted to announce that no less than two short films from the Open Workshop have been selected for participation in Siggraph 2010 in Los Angeles. Both The Guest (by Henrik Malmgren) and Television (by David Toušek) will be screened at the prestigious animation festival.
The Guest
In “The Guest”, the old widow Elsa celebrates her late husband’s birthday. Suddenly, the order is disrupted and Elsa makes a decision that changes more than her own life.
Henrik Malmgren has put a lot of hours and a lot of love into his first serious film project.
This has paid off relatively quick after he finished productions. “The Guest” has been screened in Viborg cinema, in the cinema in “Řst for Paradis” in Aarhus, and will be shown in L.A. at the Siggraph Animation festival in 25-29 July 2010.
The production was supported by Vestdansk Filmpulje and Open Workshop, and was largely financed by personal funds.

Television
The story of “Television” takes place in the flat of a low class family. Apparantly, no one is working; the parents are constantly sitting in front of the TV, and the daughter is engaging in weird activities, mostly in front of the TV as well. Only the 15-year old son looks normal. But is his pathetic family really the reason for his despair?
“Television” was made by American David Toušek, who has his own animation studio, Bohemian Multimedia, in Prague (Czech Republic). Now, “Television” too has been selected to participate in the Siggraph 2010 event in Los Angeles.
