Fugleflugten

3D animation by Maria Stevnbak Andersen

Plot
Fugleflugten is about a small songbird that lives in Uzbekistan with its loving family. But war and terror threatens the family, and they are forced to flee as the father bird has expressed his negative thoughts about the corrupt magpies. After an arduous flight with three weeks of gruelling experiences the small songbird arrives in Denmark – alone. Separated from his family and in this strange country, he is placed in the vulture-camp, and his struggles have only just begun…

The project
The purpose of the short film is to communicate how it feels to be a fugitive – and a fugitive in a foreign country, what happens to a person in an asylum centre, the difficulty in understanding what it is like to be a fugitive, when you have only lived in a birdcage yourself.

The film will be used in connection with the campaigns of relief organizations, for teaching purposes, as well as online distribution. The project is still in the development phase where it continues to take shape.
