Open Workshop
Open Workshop is a special department of The Animation Workshop that provides the environment, the facilities, the materials/equipment and some of the financial means necessary to develop and produce animation and animation-related projects.
The Open Workshop functions as a residency centre where both new and confirmed talents, budding artists and professionals can live for a time to work on their personal projects, on their own and together.
Projects supported and hosted by the Open Workshop range from portfolio creation and animation tests through production of short films and other short-term-low-budget projects and all the way to the development phases on longer-term and more costly endeavours. After development, such larger-scale film and show concepts are to be presented to Danish and European production companies for further development and (co-) production. In the case of short films, the Open Workshop manages worldwide festival distribution.
Also to be noted, the professional resources within The Animation Workshop’s Bachelor of Arts in Character Animation are also exploited to a great advantage for the Open Workshop - our pool of high-end guest professionals from the international animation industry act as consultants on Open Workshop projects.
