The 3D Artist students started working on their final projects already from day 1 and in the course of the next 15 weeks they studied and learned the various components of CG art and the Maya pipeline while continuously working on their personal projects with the instruction from a series of professionals (among others, Julia Bracegirdle, Lecturer of Visual Communication, Loughborough University, UK; Lawrence Marvit, freelance Art Director, formerly Pixar Animation Studios, USA; Kristifir Klein, Lead Set Modeler, Pixar Animation Studios, USA; Mike Krummhoefener, Senior Character Modeler, Pixar Animation Studios; Johannes Gerl, freelance 3D Artist, Germany; and Leigh Russell, 3D Artist, Cinecite, UK).
During the last two weeks the students put the final touches on their projects - a fully textured, shaded, lighted and rendered image of a posed character in a 3D setting - under the supervision of Sunit Parekh-Gaihede, 3D Artist, Hydralab, formerly Animal Logic, USA/Denmark.
